the food is deliciously cooked and offers great presentation. some items can run low.

The room was cleaned daily with fresh towels provided when needed, adding to the overall comfort of the stay.
The breakfast food choice was limited, and some tables seemed to be reserved for special guests, which felt unfair to other guests.

Could this be the unicorn we’re all looking for?
The location is lovely, just a short drive to the lake, and the room was large and clean with comfortable bedding. The attentive staff made our stay delightful, and we truly enjoyed the delicious meals served.
While the room was nice,, parking was a bit tricky due to nearby events. Sound insulation between rooms could be improved for a more restful night.

staying at this hotel was an experience, to say the least. The check-in was efficient, but absolutely did not feel like I mattered. And there's definitely too much noise to sleep well. I expected a little pampering, maybe an upgrade? , but instead, I got a bathroom that felt like it belonged in a museum. Just couldn’t recommend it, sadly.

missingWrote a review on 26 Juloutdated bathroom
Parking is not where it appears in the pictures. instead, guests must park across the road in an office and apartment lot. While the bathroom offered basic amenities, it felt outdated with very little beyond the essentials. The lack of air conditioning made the room uncomfortable during warmer nights, and breakfast options were limited with some items running low close to closing time.

Hotel Engel captivated me with its stunning views and a warm village atmosphere. The drive to the hotel featured breathtaking mountain vistas and hairpin bends, setting a perfect tone for our trip. The manager was welcoming and fluent in English, which eased our check-in process despite the market hustle in front of the hotel. Our room on the first floor offered a charming view of the mountains and nearby cable cars, which I loved. I appreciated the cleanliness and comfort of the room, which, however, could get quite warm—ventilation was tricky, and we left the patio door open for air. Breakfast impressed me with a range of fresh options, from fruits to pastries and great coffee, all set in a lovely dining area with friendly staff. Though the restaurant was bustling, our dinner choices—like the asparagus soup and Cordon Bleu—were delicious, even if service was a bit disorganized due to the crowd. a delightful experience, but I’d recommend they manage busy times in the restaurant better.
